Default what am i doing incorrectly?

I have been playing a monk more often recently, and things have been going good. I have been running a standard WoH bar. I recently went to the lair of the snowmen in order to farm dwarven faction. A few minutes into the dungeon, there is a section that has very rapid attacks coming from numerous snowmen, as well as damage from the vents in the floors. My party rapidly loses health, even when I pre-prot Aegis, and I lose a number of people. Are there specific skills or a build I should be running, or certain heroes I should bring or something? What am I doing incorrectly?

depends what heroes your run. What other skills do you run with WoH? Are you going Hybrid? Are you going in HM?
If you want a WoH build, heres one:
[Word of Healing][Dwayna's Kiss][Dismiss Condition][Glyph of Lesser Energy][Shield of Absorption][Protective Spirit][Cure Hex][Rebirth]
If you wanted to you switch [Rebirth] with something like [Spirit Bond] to counter some off the damage.

You should take at least 2 healers if you are only taking yourself and having problems.
As posted below, have a puller, before aggroing, cast [Protective Spirit] and [Shield of Absorption] on him/her and you should be good.

Aegis does little good, the Snowball attack is a spell, iirc.

Try and have a single character take agro, and cast [[shield of absorption] on him. Failing that, [[healers boon] + [[heal party] should work.

edit: Also, take a look at your team build - try blowing up the snowmen as fast as possible, another method of preventing damage to your team. [[savannah heat], [[splinter weapon], [[barrage], etc. - big AoE attacks make snowmen cry.

The snowball skill is a spell, not an attack, [Aegis] is worthless. That being the case I would say flag someone in to take the full force of the attack and throw [Shield of Absorption] on them.

Edit: Bah, beat me to it by a minute.

When I go in there I always bring the three elementalist heroes with [Searing Flames]. They don't stand a chance. If you want a really easy time just have someone with [Defiant was Xinrae].

Only if your fights last longer than 5-10 seconds.
Which they shouldn't against snowmen.
Triple heats deal far more upfront damage than SF could ever hope to.

As ive been there at least 3 times =D My 1st time I brought [Savannah Heat] but saw a few of the snowmen unleroy from SH. From that, the last 2 or 3 I brought [Searing Flames] and saw them go down quickly. (With a good help from snares)

Nothing beats snowmen in HM quite like 4 Eles hitting a group of snowmen with [Rodgorts Invocation] + [Searing Flames]

My guess is that your party got stupid and stood on one of the vents. Nothing a monk can do about that. If they're AI, try flagging them off of it.

Blocks won't do anything.

Things like Shield of Absorption do.
Basically, take someone with Defiant Was Xinrae, SoA them and run in. And yeah, minions are quite awesome there, especially with Death Nova in there!

@Ice Fifty Five - Why are you using Rodgorts and SF on the same bar?

Is that the bit where the Snowman at the back of the room drops a dungeon key? If so, try flagging your henchies and creep around the back of the snowball-firing towers, along the side by the wall, that way you'll at least avoid the traps. If you're talking about that section filled with Ranger Snowmen who spam their Barrage-like snowball attack, again, just flag the hench to the side to avoid the traps and lay the smack down. I found AoE + Knockdown to work well against them, since they die pretty quick anyway, by the time they get around to running out of the AoE it's a bit late. I think when I farmed this mission on HM I just loaded up with 5 Eles and 3 Monks and ripped through it. Using [["I Am Unstoppable!"] yourself can sometimes be a good move versus the snowmen who cause knockdown.

[[Shielding hands], [[Shield of absorption], [[Healing Hands], [[Seed of Life], and [[Healing Seed] work really well in this dungeon. Just wait for the focus fire of the snowmen and use one (or more, if needed) of the spells on the targeted ally. It's probably the only time healing hands makes it onto my bar.
